Why Discussion Forum to Discuss Matters

IAEC website provides a facility for members or other public entities to discuss thoughts, exchange ideas and more in either language in Bahasa Indonesia or English.

A website forum is a discussion board (also known as discussion group, discussion forum, message board, online forum or bulletin board), a general term for any online discussion board where you can post a topic, leave comments and expect to see responses from other users to the posts or messages you had left.

Depending on the specific forum topic setup or the access level of users who added the messages, a posted message might need to be approved first by a moderator before it becomes visible.

Online discussion forums have a set of jargon associated with them, as an example, a set of conversation or specific discussion is called a "thread" or just "topic".

A discussion forum can be hierarchical or tree-like in structure, i.e. a forum can contain a number of sub-forums, each of which may have several topics. Within a forum's topic, each new discussion started is called a thread, and can be replied to by as many people as wished, depends on forum settings, users might have to register or login first to comment or add their replies. Otherwise the post can be said was made by an anonymous if so allowed by the forum rules.

On most forums though, users do not have to log in just to read existing public posts or messages.

A thread then can be said to allow exchange of ideas or to make some conclusions of some good solutions for certain questions asked by the TS (Thread or Topic Starter).

In general, there are several common sense well accepted ways in doing discussions. for instances:
- Respect other users, hence they would respect you. No flaming or abusing between forum members
- Post in relevant sub-forums only, if there's no appropriate relevant sub forums (yet), you can always suggest one to admin
- No illegal contents or discussion topics
